Top 10 Anti Spyware Download Software

Technology is everything. Technology is a double edged sword. With the advent of technology, there have been many good developments. At the same time it led to destruction too. PC and Internet were the top inventions but their security is at stake.

Spyware Attack is common for every PC user. On a global scale, this problem affects almost everyone, and thus the development of a huge anti spyware industry. They have come up with various products to deal with the threat. These anti spyware software products remove or disable existing spyware on the computers they are installed on and prevent their further installation.

Many commercial firms have started conducting research on spyware and adware programs and designed anti spyware products to remove or block them. The following list shows some of the top anti spyware download software that are quiet popular in the anti spyware market.

1. Webroot’s Spy Sweeper sweeps away spyware. This anti spyware download software has received a number of PC Magazine Editors' Choice awards for spyware protection. Spy Sweeper has an extensive spyware database and currently scans for over 150,000 spyware components.

2. NoAdware anti spyware is constantly updated to identify the latest threats to your privacy. The software will scan your PC for different Spyware, Adware, Dialers, and Web Bug traces.

3. PC Tools’ Spyware Doctor has consistently been awarded Editors' Choice, by leading PC magazines and testing laboratories around the world. Recently its Starter Edition was included in Google Pack.

4. CA’s AntiSpyware has a free 30-day demo which has a full working version; however, you're asked to provide a lot of personal information.

5. Trend Micro which has excellent Anti Virus features has recently developed Anti spyware that acts as the first line of defense against threats like spyware, grayware, viruses, and phishing.

6. Lavasoft’s Adware SE is a free anti spyware download software, however it does not offer real time online protection . Moreover it is not extremely aggressive in detecting and removing certain adware.

7. Microsoft’s Windows Defender is an anti spyware download software program designed to prevent, remove and quarantine spyware in Microsoft Windows. So Linux based systems cannot use it.

8. Spybot - Search & Destroy is currently released as freeware. However, the fine print of the license indicates a commercial distribution. It has been applauded for its ease of use and installation, free support and updates but it suffers from having a small spyware database.

9. Counter Spy: Besides acting as an anti spyware software, it also gives privacy protection by erasing files and clearing your web browsing history.

10. McAfee is a spectacular anti virus product and yet to develop its anti spyware software features.

Whatever may be the anti spyware software, one should download it from a reliable source. Otherwise in the name of anti spyware download, a bogus program gets downloaded that is harmful as the spyware and adware itself.

8 Tips for Great E-Mail Etiquette

As a Virtual Assistant, I send and receive a large amount of e-mail on a daily basis. I can always tell when someone is either in a rush or simply doesn’t like to type. Their messages come through with misspelled words, with little regard for punctuation and grammar. What’s worse is when the tone or meaning of the message isn’t clear.

Here are some easy rules of thumb to keep in mind when you are sending and receiving e-mail, especially for business purposes:

1) Always include a subject. If you are replying to someone else’s message, it’s okay to use what is already in the subject line. If you are the one initiating the e-mail however, you should always include a subject, even if it’s one word or a simple phrase such as “May 1 Meeting” or “Follow-up from Meeting.”

2) Pay attention to punctuation and proper grammar. You may not be the fastest typist in the world, but adding those periods and question marks where they belong will clarify the message you are sending. And don’t forget about using capitalization where needed. Proper grammar goes a long way in helping your message recipient to understand exactly what you’re trying to say.

3) Never use all capital letters. “HOW ARE YOU?” makes it seem as if you are shouting at the person. It’s okay to use caps for things like “ABC Oil Company,” but using them for anything else is not a good idea.

4) Get to the point. Your message should be short and concise. The fewer words you use, the better. No one has time to read long, drawn-out messages.

5) Be careful with attachments. If you attach a huge file to an e-mail, the person on the receiving end may have a hard time opening it or get frustrated when the message takes a long time to download to their e-mail program. Pay attention to the size of the documents you are attaching, and scale them down if necessary.

6) Use plain text in messages. Sure, HTML messages may look pretty, but everyone can relate much better to plain text, no matter which e-mail program they are using.

7) Whenever possible, reply below the message you receive. When you are replying to someone’s question in an e-mail you received, scroll down to the question they are asking or information they are inquiring about, and post your reply there. For example:

Original e-mail: “James, what is the name of that restaurant you took your client to last week?” Reply: “The Bedford Village Inn”

is much easier to read than:

Reply: “The Bedford Village Inn” Original e-mail: “James, what is the name of that restaurant you took your client to last week?”

8) Check your spelling. Remember that the spell-check feature doesn’t always work in this case, so scan your message visually before sending it.

Keeping these tips in mind when you are both sending and receiving e-mail will help your online conversations run a lot more smoothly. You’ll also be more productive and save time in the long run. Happy e-mailing!

What To Do When Your Spouse Is Diagnosed With Skin Cancer - First 5 Things You Should Do

When you get a call, like I did, from your spouse telling you his dermatologists thinks he has melanoma, the first 5 things you should do are:

1. LISTEN

Your spouse will tell you everything you need to know initially. What the doctor thinks the stage is (Melanoma is gauged in stages 1,2,3,4). No one will know for sure without a biopsy, but they have a pretty good idea.

No matter what the stage, it will have an initial distressing effect. In my case, my husband’s doctor thought it was Stage 4.

After you have the facts, there are things you yourself can do. Even if it’s a speck, melanoma is a very serious, sometimes life-threatening disease, so you will want to consider No. 2. If it is a disturbing diagnosis, you will definitely want to go to No. 2.

2. CALL ANYONE YOU KNOW WHO HAS HAD SKIN CANCER OR KNOWS SOMEONE WHO HAS HAD SKIN

CANCER

If your friend has experienced it first hand (in the family), you will get valuable answers to the question “What do I do?”

The answers I got ranged from the hospital where the individual got treatment, the doctor who oversaw the treatment, the opinion of that treatment, where else the person got treated, the doctor who oversaw that treatment the opinion of that treatment, and any cancer organizations and/or websites you can go to learn about this disease.

3. RESEARCH

This is the most important single task you will do. And you are just beginning. You want to learn everything you can learn, because you never know what you will find that may help.

American Cancer Society AAD (American Academy of Dermatology) Institutes of Health – Skin Cancer

From one of these sources … friends, cancer organizations, internet, you will find treatment centers near where you live.

4. AFTER THE DIAGNOSIS HAS BEEN CONFIRMED

At some point, you’re going to join your spouse at the doctor’s office. At this point, you will ask for a recommended Oncologist (preferably an expert in skin Cancer, but not absolutely necessary).

After a course of action has been suggested, immediately find another top

medical center and doctor for a Second Opinion. And there is nothing in the

world wrong with getting a third.

Your spouse and you consider options. Sometimes there will be more

than one option. This can be extremely anxiety provoking. There is no easy

way to deal with this. You can pray, you can ask advice, but ultimately you and

your spouse (or if your spouse is comfortable, he’ll make his own decision) will

have to come to a decision.

No matter which way you go, who decides what, sometimes there is no sure

answer.

5. AFTER THE TREATMENT

As long as there’s another day of life, and when life is at stake, you must continue researching. Researching will be your best friend.

And if you don’t like the way your doctor is handling things, or maybe he’s not showing enough interest with your spouse’s questions, or your questions, or what to do next, or anything that doesn’t feel right to you, get another doctor!

Difficult as it is, we changed doctors 3 or more times. His second dermatologist overlooked missed something so staggeringly major, I almost fainted when I discovered it. At least ten serious actions came to my mind regarding that doctor, but time and energy was needing for taking the next step.

I honestly don’t remember through what source … the paper, a person, a friend, told me about a doctor back east who, when appropriate, imported a drug from France that was going through trials that matched my husband’s circumstances. The doctor back east studied our “case”, and agreed to send the drug.

In the end, I lost my husband to the disease. And we don’t know for sure that the

drug from France helped, but we think it gave him 3 more years.

Taking Great Pictures of your Kids. Make Money Taking Pictures of Other Peopl's Kids

Taking Great Pictures of Your Kids.
Save Time and Money! Plus, Make Money Taking Pictures of Other People’s Kids!

We all know how expensive family portraits can be. We also know how time consuming it is to find a photographer in your area, who is good at what they do. Once we get the money part and the time part figured out, the kids are sick or fussy on the day of the appointment!
So, what can you do? You can learn to take your own portraits at home. This might sound complicated at first, but really it is not that hard to learn. As long as you have a digital camera, you are off to a great start.
I’m sure you are thinking, what am I going to use as a background for the portraits? Almost anything will work for a background. A white wall, a sheet hung by tacks or a curtain rod, a room divider, a blanket, a large poster, an area rug, are all great to use as a background. Always place your child at least 4 to 5 feet in front of the background. This will keep unwanted shadows of the background and will make the child stand out.
Lighting is about the most difficult to learn, but I will show you simple ways to get it accomplished. First of all, turn off your camera flash. It creates to harsh of lighting, and makes for very unflattering photos.
If you have a large window that lets in a lot of sun, you can pose your child in front of it. Just be sure to turn the child only three-quarters of the way to face the window. This will light up most of his/her face and leave the other side in shadows. Doing this will make for a more flattering picture. However, only use window lighting on a cloudy day, early or late in the day. You do not want to use direct sunlight coming from the window, it is almost like using a flash! Of course if you have some sheers hung on the window to diffuse the sunlight, than you may use it at anytime of the day.
For those of you that do not have a good window to use, I recommend shop lights (unless you can afford strobe lights, but they are more for proffesional use). Halogen shop lights (the type with two lights on a stand) run about $20.00. They are excellent for portrait lighting. Set them up about 5 feet in front of where your child will be sitting, and slightly to the side and above your child. Then hang a white sheet about 1 foot in front of the lights. This will diffuse the lights and give them a soft glowing effect.
If you would rather take pictures outdoors, here are a few tips. Make sure that you find an uncluttered background. Grass, sky, hills all work well. You can even use trees, but pay attention that there is not going to be one that looks as though it is sticking out of your child’s head in the picture. As with photographing by the window, never take a portrait of your child in direct sunlight. It will create harsh shadows and make for a very unflattering picture. Overcast days, dawn or dusk are usually great times. If that is not possible, have your child stand in the shade of a few trees or a building. Just remember to make sure there are no strange shadows on their face.

(By the way, the shop lights get very hot, so keep little fingers away and don’t get your diffusing sheet too close.)

One more tip ! Make sure you zoom in to get more of your child and less of the background.
Once you get the hang of this with your kids, you can start making money taking pictures of your friends kids!

Anti Aging Cosmetics: Taking On Father Time

Anti aging cosmetics have been used from time immemorial, as humans try to avoid the inevitable. Anti aging cosmetics, in the forms of blemish and wrinkle-concealing makeup, are at best exceedingly temporary solutions to the signs of aging to which everyone will, sooner or later, succumb. Yet anti aging cosmetics are more in demand than ever. Why?

One of the tricks which the human mind can play on itself is that it does no seem to have sense of its own chronological age. Many people continue to behave as if they were in their high school years well into their forties or even fifties. Their problem comes when their mirrors tell them something other than what their minds are telling them. The quickest way to reconcile the two versions of reality is with anti aging cosmetics.

Competing In The Workplace

Even those people who are in touch with the fact of their own aging may turn to anti aging cosmetics out of necessity, because of the need to compete in the workplace. In too many instances, the working work will favor physical youth over experience, confusing a youthful looking group of employees with an attractive company image.

Those people who may have been with a company for several years, and may have even helped it become established do not want to be shunted aside by newcomers simply on the basis of appearance. If a bit of hair color to cover the grey, or a touch of wrinkle-concealing foundation will even the playing field, they are not ashamed to use them.

Looking For Love

Finally, many people would never think of staying on the social scene without the help of anti aging cosmetics. Both life expectancy and the divorce rate are increasing, and many people who would in past decades married only once now find themselves back on the dating scene as they approach middle age, or even later.

The desire to be attractive to the opposite sex is not a matter of gender; both men and women are finding themselves in search of companionship later and later in life. The use of anti aging cosmetics may give them some much needed confidence in their search.

We live in a world which is becoming more and more the domain of the young. The growing demand for anti-aging cosmetics is one sign than of those many middle-aged and older are not going ready to give up on enjoying life just yet, and with the help of anti aging cosmetics are gong to keep living their lives to the fullest!

5 Tips To Starting An Online Business

Everyday, people all over the world, make money running a business on the Internet. The Internet is a great way to start a business with little to no money. The following five steps will provide some suggestions on getting your online business started.

1. Register a website. This is the only expense that you will initially have and it’s worth every penny. This is vital to giving your online business a professional feel and for less than $10 a month you can register a web address and get the pages hosted.

2. Create a blog. A blog is short for web log. It’s an online journal of sorts that anyone can read and comment on. Some bloggers make over $100,000 a year by ad revenue. The most common source of ad revenue is Google. The easiest way to start a blog is through Blogger.com which is owned by Google and completely free.

3. Build your own industry specific news group. For example, a news group about sports equipment. You could run articles about the latest equipment that is coming to market. Sell ad space in the articles to sports companies. Also offer press release publication for a small fee to the industry.

4. Sell products from your website. This could be anything from homemade crafts to items that you purchase at wholesale and resell. One of the more common methods to do this is to get connected with a "blind shipper". Basically when someone places an order with your website, the request is sent to a warehouse and your label is placed on it.

5. Start your own online directory. While there are thousands of them out there now, most are poorly put together. The best web directories make a lot of money by charging a fee to review your website and if approved, listed it in the proper category. There are many scripts that you can purchase that automates the listing process, but I run my directory, Kahmer.com, completely by hand. Either way, make sure that you review every submission for accuracy and quality.

For more information on starting your own site, visit: www.RichKahmer.com I am involved in several of these strategies currently. Feel free to contact me with any questions.

Rich Kahmer is a Internet Marketer with a background in insurance and financial services. He has grown a network of insurance directories that helps people get insurance and insurance agents get customers. For more information, visit: http://www.FindLocalInsurance.com

How to Overcome Stress

We have all had our share of stress..

I always was cynical towards people who complained of experiencing misfortunes. I used to say that they do not have a positive attitude and whatever they anticipate comes to pass. "As a man thinketh, so is he."

But now I think differently. Some things can be learned only by experience. Some may be pleasant and some unpleasant. But it is necessary to have both good and bad experiences.

Last year we lost our house in a fire. It was a terrible loss because the property was under insured. My wife and some of my friends questioned me as to why this disaster should happen to me, a positive person. I myself did not know why! But I knew one thing. Everything that happens to me happens for good. What good it will be and when it will be, I had no idea. I will have to wait and recognize the good when it comes and be thankful for it.

Since the house that burned down was a single family home in a duplex zone, we decided to build a duplex. When we submitted the plan to City Hall, our architect found that we could construct a three story triplex. So now we have a three story triplex which gives a beautiful view of the ocean and mountains. Freighters and cruise ships from all over the world anchor in front of our house, and sea birds and eagles provide us with endless entertainment. We also have an income from the other two portions of our house. Thus, the fire was a blessing in disguise.

If the fire had gutted less than 70% of the house, we would have had to repair the damage and would not be permitted to demolish the house and build a new one. The fire brigade was a little slow to respond and that resulted in more than 70% of the house being burned. That little delay helped us, though that was not the intention of the fire brigade

Needless to say, during this time we suffered a lot of stress.

All stress is created by mind and the ability to overcome stress is also created by mind. Some events can create very great stress and calamity.

First, let us look at some of the damaging consequences of stress. An actual incident was narrated by Father Jerome Morella de Sorento, an Italian missionary in the Congo. A young man spent a night with his friend. According to the tribal custom young men are prohibited from eating wild hen for breakfast. Unknown to the visitor the host prepared a wild hen and served for breakfast. When the guest enquired, the host said that it was not a wild hen. A few years later the two met again. Again the host prepared a wild hen for breakfast. Again the guest asked if it was a wild hen and the host replied "Yes." The guest refused to eat. The friend laughed and said why should you refuse to eat it now when you were perfectly happy to eat it last time you came. As soon as the guest realized that the breakfast that he ate a few years back was wild hen, he began to tremble violently and was dead in 24 hours.

What was the cause of his death? Was it the violation of the tribal custom? It could not have been for he did not eat the hen that morning and when he violated the custom few years before, nothing ill happened. It was the stress of the realization of his violating the tribal custom a few years back.

Another example illustrating the deadly consequences of stress was written by Dr. John K.Williams, a member of the Board of the National Association for Mental Health. He wrote in his book, "The Wisdom Of Your Subconscious Mind", that a physician was given permission to experiment on a criminal sentenced to death. The prisoner was blind-folded and told that he would be painlessly bled to death instead of going through the torture of hanging. He was placed on a table. The Physician made a small incision on his hand but not deep enough to cause any bleeding and a small stream of running water was allowed to trickle into a bowl as if blood were trickling form the prisoner's hand. The physician made suggestions to the effect that he was bleeding to death. In a short time the prisoner died showing all symptoms of cerebral anemia. though he never lost any blood. Here again death was the result of stress created by his mind.

Dr. Holmes and Dr. Rahe of the University of Washington Medical School, Seattle, interviewed many sick people and found that their ailment could be related to stress they had suffered during the two previous years. They came up with a check list of 43 items to which they gave numerical values. For instance:

For death of a spouse they gave 100 points

divorce 73

personal injury or illness 50

retirement 45

trouble with the boss 23

Christmas 12

They found that if our score in one year is over 300 points, we have a 90% chance of falling seriously ill during the next few years. Homes-Rahe test is widely used for statistical analysis of the health of army personnel in the U.S.

It is now an admitted fact that 50% to 80% of all diseases are psychosomatic. Many cases of cancer are attributable to social stress. Ulcers, high blood pressure, arthritis, chronic back pain, skin disorders, headaches, allergies, upset stomachs, asthma, hay fever, impotence, insomnia, diabetes and alcoholism are considered to be stress related.

High school football players from families having stress problems are likely to suffer more serious injuries than those from other families.

But by anticipation we invite accidents to happen. Therefore, when stress comes, recognize the stress but realize and be confident that some good is coming and look out for that good that is coming.

When we cultivate this habit, stress will always end up as a benefit. Try it, expect it and see that it happens every time

In addition to worries about health and petty things, we have a long list of "what if's". For example, "What if my house is robbed when I am away?" You know the story of the woman who had 23 padlocks and 20 dogs to guard her for she feared she would be robbed, raped, and murdered. She spent sleepless nights in fear and trembling.

Some of us worry about what others think about us. If we knew how little they thought about us, if ever they did, we would get over that worry in a hurry.

The interesting fact is that though worry is the cause of so much stress, worry can be imaginary.

40% of your worries may never happen

30% of your worries are about events that have already happened and nothing can be done about them

10% of your worries are about petty things

12% of your worries are about your health or diet, your weight, etc. and will only aggravate the situation.

There is the story of the hypochondriac who went to see his doctor. When the hypochondriac was describing his imaginary diseases, the doctor was making short notes. The doctor was called away to answer a phone call. When the doctor was away, the hypochondriac peeked at the notes and saw the letters "SOB". He was very angry. When the doctor returned, the hypochondriac questioned him as to how dare he make such remarks about him. The doctor replied "First of all, my notes are my personal property and you should not have looked at them. Secondly the letters "SOB" stand for short of breath and not what you think.

All stress is not bad. Medical investigation has concluded that under-stress can cause depression, indigestion, overeating, chronic irritability, fatigue, inability to concentrate, and many more undesirable habits. Too much or too little is not good.

Stress can be useful and necessary. If there is no stress on the strings, not a sound could be coaxed from the most beautiful Stradivarius and the highly prized diamond watch will not run for one minute but for the stress on its spring.

Too much tension, the strings of the violin and springs of the watch will snap and too little will make them equally useless.

Some stress is beneficial by stimulating and strengthening us. What matters is not the event which creates the worry but how we view the event. An event that causes constant worry to one can be a very useful challenge to another.

When we look at the lives of great people, we find that their greatness depended upon their ability to overcome the tragic events in their lives and to turn them into events of blessings.

St Paul wrote the epistles in prison. Charles Kettering broke his hand while cranking an automobile and hence he invented the self starter. He had a sign in his laboratory, "Do not bring me your successes, they weaken me. Bring me your problems, they strengthen me."

As a boy, Edison worked as a candy butcher on the train between Port Huron and Detroit. One day he was late for the train and was running along to get on board. The conductor literally pulled him aboard by his ears. His eardrums were damaged and he lost 90% of his hearing. Edison claimed that his deafness helped him in that he could hear the loud ticking of the telegraph ticker amidst the chattering by people which he could not hear. This deafness led him into the unexplored field of sound and its transmission. He patented 1100 inventions in the fields of sound and its transmission, photography, and electricity before he died in 1931 at the age of 90.

When we are under stress, our awareness, our senses, and our mind are sharpened. We all know many people who work best under stress. But they do not permit stress to create anxiety in them.

There are many ways to deal with stress. Some of them are simple and are intended to get our minds off the object of stress. Some therapists recommend transient remedies such as a warm bath, going for a walk, cutting the grass, baking bread, writing down your peeves, finding out what we are afraid of and so on. .

Getting our mind off the issue is good not only for stress but also in dealing with many other vexatious problems.

Some other common ways of combatting stress are to take a couple of tranquilizers, mix an alcoholic drink, smoke pot, eat, watch television, go to bed and cry, take it out on our dear ones but these responses will only land us in greater trouble.

There are three better methods by which we will be able to overcome stress.

The first method is to forgive yourself for the past mistakes you think you made. There are many people who cannot get rid of their guilty feelings over such mistakes.

The famous writer, Guy de Maupassant wrote a story entitled "A Piece of String." It is the story of a man who saw a string on a busy market place. He bent down and picked it up thinking he could use it. He was accused of picking up a lost wallet and was arrested and put in prison. Fortunately, the wallet was found the next day. This man could not get over the insult and indignities he suffered. He brooded over it day and night. The piece of string had become an obsession. He neglected his work and went from person to person complaining of how he had been wrongly arrested and imprisoned. He died of a broken heart mumbling "A piece of string."

The piece of string became an obsession because he was finding fault with himself for having picked up the piece of string. If he had focussed on the person who accused him and forgiven him, the obsession would not have persisted, for he would have had to forget the offence and forgive the offender.

A wise man once said that when a person undresses for bed at night, he should also undress his mind from the mistakes and failures of the day. The art of forgetting is a virtue we ought to acquire.

Second method to eliminate stress is forgiveness of the offender. Forgive others for the offenses they have committed against you. We read in the Gospel "Forgive if ye have ought against any." Some people say, "I can forgive but I cannot forget." Henry Ward Beecher, the famous American preacher at Brooklyn, New York, said "Such a statement is another way of saying that I will not forgive.”

Benjamin Franklin said, "It is the lot of man to suffer. It is also his fortune to forget." and we forget because we must and not because we will.

Little vicious minds abound with anger and revenge and are incapable of feeling the pleasure of forgiving their enemies. You will experience the release of strain, the relaxation of body and mind when you forgive a person. You have no idea what great treasure lies in store for you until you experience it. For your own sake, for your own peace of mind, for your own health, for your own joy, learn to forgive.

The third method is to control our brain waves. Learning to control our brain waves will bring great joy and pleasure . Meditation and yoga are the initial methods for learning to control brain waves. Biofeedback also enables a person to control brain waves and thereby gain control over stress.

Finally, when we search earnestly for the purpose of our lives and the Creator's purpose in creating the universe, with all the living beings with human beings in the top rung, with the highest power of deduction and induction among all, we will realize that the Creator was looking for companionship. The stresses we experience throughout our lives are challenges to make us strong and fitting companions for the Creator.

10 Ways to Reduce Commuting Stress

Do you get out of your car with a queasy stomach, a headache and your blood pressure registering through the roof? If you do, that energy vulture called stress may have sent your pulse skyrocketing. In a study conducted at the University of California at Irvine, researchers found that the stress of commuting takes a major toll on health. According to the study, it has direct physiological effects of raising blood pressure and releasing stress hormones into the body. Not only that, long commutes (more than 18 miles one way) may also increase the likelihood of having a heart attack due to exposure to high levels of air pollutants, which appears to be a risk factor for heart disease.

Although there is no antidote to stressful commuting, there are lots of ways to shoo off the energy vulture. Here's how to thrive while you drive.

1. Prepare in advance

One of the best ways to lessen the strain of road rage is to prepare everything the night before. Clothes, documents, attache cases, and even packed lunches should be set the day before to avoid the morning rush. With everything champing at the bit, you'd save plenty of time to do your morning routines, devour a good breakfast and enjoy special moments with the family. Best of all, you can dash out the highway free of traffic congestion.

2. Sleep well and wake up early

A good night's sleep rejuvenates the body. Make it a habit to have enough sleep and to rise early. If you are already stressed out the day before, an incomplete repose takes over cumulative stress effects into your life at work and at home. Your frustration levels at work eventually rises, your brainpower falters, and your mood at home sours. You have no energy left for enjoying life.

3. Juggle your work hours

Why pack the freeways with all the other "9-to-5"ers when you can try a ten-to-six or an eight-to-four shift? Depending on your company's work policy, try to check out other shifts that fit your lifestyle. Choose one that would help you get rid of energy-depleting stress and allow you to lighten your highway woes.

4. Share your ride

It may be a hassle to coordinate your arrival and departure with another person or two, but carpooling is worth it. Studies show that ridesharing lowers commuter stress significantly. With carpooling, there is less air and noise pollution, less traffic congestion, and you can relax more while someone else does the driving.

5. "Cocoon" in your car

Instead of getting worked up when traffic is at a standstill, utilize your time wisely. Listen to the radio or pop in some music tapes to take your mind off the stop-and-go driving and traffic tie-ups. If you like to read but just can't have time to flip pages of a book, check out books on cassette. Many libraries have full-length books on tape as well as abridged versions. You can even learn a new language or do some car exercises like shoulder rolls, neck extensions and tummy tucks to help you stay awake and relax.

6. Pillow your back and squirm

When you're standing, the lumbar area of your spine (the lower portion) normally curves inward, toward your abdomen. However, when you're sitting, it tends to slump outward squeezing your spinal disks and putting stress on them. According to back expert Malcolm Pope, Ph.D.,director of the Iowa Spine Research Center at the University of Iowa, it helps to support your back by tucking a rolled towel or a pillow in that lumbar section. In cases of longer drives, since sitting in one position for longer than 15 minutes gradually stiffens you even with a back pillow, make necessary adjustments for a comfy ride. For instance, you can try putting most of your weight on one buttock and then the other. Then, shift the position of your seat or your buttocks slightly. You may even try sliding down in your seat and sit up again for fun.

7. Work out after work

Since the evening rush is worse than the morning rush because of the compounded fatigue from the workday, it is best to wait out the traffic. Work out at a gym near your office or take meditation classes to relieve your stress. If you plan to go to dinner, see a movie or go shopping, try to do these things near work, delaying your departure enough to miss the maddening rush.

8. Give yourself a break

It may be a good idea to give yourself some day off from work. Many companies today offer compressed working hours or longer working days to give way to work-free days for you to unwind.

9. Move your office

If your job is a long drive ahead everyday, inquire at work if the company would allow you to work at home some days of the week or if you can work near your place. An alternative work schedule would make you feel less tense and in control thereby reducing stress.

10. Occasionaly change your routine

An occasional change of commuting habits may be advisable too. Try walking or bicycling sometimes for a change. There's nothing like a good walk to ease tension especially when it means you don't have to get in your car and fight rush hour traffic.

By lessening the stress of getting to work, you are conserving enormous amounts of energy that may be lost over stressful commuting. It doesn't only leave you a lot more energy to do your job and become more productive but it also makes you feel good and gives you a good reason to always start your day right.

Promote Your Book Online With A Short Article

Dissatisfied with your book sales? With book signings, press releases, back of the room sales?

So many authors spend a lot of time and money on promotion that doesn't work. It's time to do what authors do best--write a short article. People visit article direcories looking for great free content for their site and their eines. Some will be attracted to your topic. Follow these ten steps to write an article high-traffic web sites will clamor for with a link back to where your book is sold.

1.Choose a topic that relates to your book. Make sure this how-to article has useful, needed information. One site who markets to professional speakers just published your coach's article "What Makes One Book Out Sell Another."

2.Know your article's thesis. The thesis is the number one solution your article offers to its reader. In the introduction above, the thesis is stated in the last line, "Use these 10 ways to write an article top web sites will clamor for with a link back to where your book is sold."

3.Know your preferred audience. Just as your book has a target audience, so should your article. One book, "How to Write Your E-Book or Other Book—Fast! is a short, easy-to-read, step-by-step guide to assist professionals and other businesses with writing, publishing and selling their book.

4.Write a sparkling opening. Like a headline in a press release or on your book's back cover, your first sentence should grab your readers by the collar so they will keep reading. The opening could use a shocking fact, a question, a benefit, or a compelling story right out of your book. Make the opening a short paragraph, even a single line. Readers want short, concise, digestible information, especially on the Internet.

5.Illustrate a need. Whatever your topic, show your readers why they need your information. If you have written a book on listening, in your short article discuss how much is at stake for not listening such as divorce or lost business. You may also share the benefits.

6.Give a brief background of the problem or situation you will solve. One client wrote a book, "The Cure for Multiple Sclerosis." She shares that over 2 million people worldwide with Multiple Sclerosis are diagnosed incurable, that doctors are pressured to use pharmaceuticals, and that the health industry is not about getting people well, but about making money.

7. Share the problems that result. In "The Cure for Multiple Sclerosis," the problem is that most people rely on western medicine which does not have the answers. Big money is not spent on alternative or complementary ways to prevent and cure chronic diseases, so people with problems get drugs that deplete the immune system.

8. Give the solution. Your book offers solutions to your reader's challenges or problems. So must your article. Show your readers how to get excellent health, how they can write a book, make more money, or have better relationships.

9.Show them where to get the solution and how. The article, "How to Listen at Work," needs to suggest where to go or what to do next. You may name a quality book to read. Mention a seminar or training, or recommend a coach. You may even mention a web site address or 800 number.

Place your article on as many high traffic internet sites and aritcle directories as you can. Just as feature articles in newspapers are seven times as powerful as advertising, so is your article seven times as powerful as other promotion. People are looking for free information online. That's the major reason they surf!

So, now that you know how to write a short article, put it to work for you and submit it to the 400,000 opt-in ezines and top web sites in your field to promote your book.

10 Article Marketing Mistakes To Avoid

In no particular order, here are 10 of the most common mistakes that Article Writers make:

# 1) Creating an un-targeted title: The title of an article is arguably the most important factor in getting it read. If the title is not eye-catching or interesting, you have most likely wasted your time in writing it, as no one will read it.

# 2) Including the article summary in the article body: The summary of an article is meant to provide some insight as to what the article is about. The summary is not supposed to be the first paragraph of the article. Many article directories will reject your article if you include the article summary in the “Article Summary” field as well as the “Article Body.” After reading the article summary, your viewers should not be reading the same paragraph over again.

# 3) Including your Website links inside the article body: When you are writing the body of your article, you should have the interest of your viewers in mind, not yourself. This is not only frowned upon by most article directories it is also poor marketing. Use the signature block to promote your links, as that is what it is for.

# 4) Using “hard-link breaks” in your article: Many people believe that the use of “hard-line breaks” will make the article easier to read. Whether this is true or not, it looks very unprofessional and most article directories will reject your article because of it. A hard-line break is created when an article does not wrap naturally. In other words, the writer hits the return (enter) key in the middle of a sentence to make the line shorter. Just write your paragraphs in a normal format (like this article) and you will not have anything to worry about.

#5) Submitting to an irrelevant category: This is a common mistake that constantly costs Authors valuable Website traffic. Most article directories offer email alerts and RSS feeds. These alerts and feeds are used more than you may think. Ezine publishers frequently sign up for email alerts in the categories that are relevant to their list. If your article is submitted elsewhere you could easily lose valuable exposure.

# 6) Including an irrelevant signature block: Contrary to popular belief, the primary benefit to article marketing is not link building. Even if it were, having a link on an irrelevant page will not do you much good. It is all about getting people to first read your article and second to follow-through to the links in your signature block. With this in mind, why would you talk about your dog care Website in the signature block for an article on SEO (for example)? It just doesn’t make sense. But, the article directory publishers love it, as the viewer will stay on their Website and click on their adverts rather than yours.

#7) Failing to include the http:// prefix within links: This is normally an honest mistake. Although link building is not the biggest benefit to article marketing, it is a factor. Also, most people who are browsing the web are looking for quick resources. If they cannot just click on a link they will move on. Even if the article directory software makes the link active without the http:// prefix, it will most likely not be active when/if it gets picked up by ezine/newsletter owners.

#8) Stuffing keywords into the article body: If you are not familiar with Latent Semantic Indexing (LSI) I will tell you that it is the future of search. Many people believe that Google, for one, has already implementing this new complex software that more or less relates certain keywords with other related terms. This means that “keyword density” is a thing of the past and may actually hurt you if your keywords are placed in a unnatural way. You should always be writing for people, not search engines!

#9) Submitting Private Label Rights (PLR) content: Submitting content that you do not own the full rights to is not only going to do you little to no good marketing wise, as it is either all over the Internet or will be in the future, it may very well get your account suspended with the sites that you submit it to. I still see it on a weekly (sometimes daily) basis though.

#10) Submitting to hundreds of different article sites: Mass article submission is a method of the past and is not longer effective. The Search Engine algorithms are getting more and more complex by the day. Not only is it considered a light form of spam to the search engines, serious Ezine and Newsletter publishers frown upon it as well.

5 Hot Tips For The Home Based Business Entrepreneur

If you're reading this, chances are there is one thing for sure: you have an interest in becoming a home based business entrepreneur. Maybe you're adventurous and are sick of the rat race that you're living and want to live the experience of owning your own business. Or perhaps, you eventually want to become self employed so you have more time and freedom. Whatever the reason, there's one main goal that always seems to be the do-or-die ingredient of a successful home business: to succeed and profit as a home based business entrepreneur and live the life of your dreams.

Here are five tips that will help you in that quest:

1) Pick your business venture carefully and research what type of compensation plan the business opportunity is offering. Whatever you decide on, it will be something you will be spending a lot of time, effort, and even money on. You certainly don't want to have all your energy and resources become a waste because you chose a business venture that you later decided you had no interest in. There are plenty of paths to choose; from buying wholesale and selling for profit, to providing services to other people, to promoting other people's products and making commissions. What is best for you is your choice?

2) Have a clear path and write out your objectives and goals. Subconsciously, this excercise will help because you know exactly what you will be working for and will be able to put forth more effort in the right ways to make it a reality. Having the right mental mindset is crucial to maintain a successfull home based business. The mindset of an entrepreneur will make it happen.

3) Shoot for the moon, but make sure your expectations are realistic. We've all seen business opportunity that claim the average Joe or Josephine with no business experience whatsoever made $55,000 last month as a home based business entrepreneur in just a short amount of time. What the ad doesn't tell you, was that there were probably months and months of preparation, planning, and learning that these folks did before he putting a plan into action. Having said that, there are no get rich quick scams and you can't expect to profit overnight. If you don't have much experience working and owning a business, then it will probably take you longer to succeed than someone who has had prior experieince in owning their own business. Take the time to learn how the internet works, and that marketing on the internet correctly can make you rich.

4) Don't expect your journey to be a smooth ride with no bumps in the road. Something is bound to go wrong at some point in time and this often times leads to quick frustration where many entreprenuers give up too soon. You may make a mistake that costs money and lost profits. The best home based business entrepreneurs can overcome their perils and hardships and perservere.

5) Know exactly who your target market is and create a niche product. Your prospects who are interested in the same things that you are, will be the people who your business will thrive and prosper from the most. If you can get your business to appeal to a niche audience, you will have an ongoing income stream from them. You will need to know what these people think, what they do, and what kind of lives they live. For example, if you're marketing nutritional products, the worst kind of mindset you can get into is thinking that 'everyone needs those kind of products'. Since when is 'everyone' a trustworthy source? You want people who are already interested and looking for what your business provides, like athletes, body builders and people who want to make their life healthier. Make sense?

These are just a few tips to help you out and be successful as a home based business entrepreneur. But really, the only person that can ensure your success is you. So take these tips and go become another success story.

How To See-saw Your Life To Success

Only 2-5% of the people who run their own enterprise, succeed, and are able to fulfill their life-time goals and dreams. Is it hard to do? Will you be one of the 2-5%? Do you have what it takes?

What can you do on a daily basis to improve your MPA’s (Money Producing Activities) and structure your day?
Here is a 21 day challenge that can keep you organized and focused on what’s in store for the day, or even the month. When you have a list to follow on a daily basis, you learn important organizational skills, and develop a feeling of self confidence. When you do something each day that will grow your business and increase your flow of income you will develop a future passive residual income. Keep a day planner next to you at all times, this is the key to staying organized with appointments, calls or future events. In order for you to live in this busy world, you need to structure your day. This will significantly reduce your daily stress.

Try to do these IN ORDER! It forms a habit that leads to incredible balance, peace of mind, and SUCCESS!

***Get out of bed on time (you determine the best time for you)
***Make your bed and pick up after yourself (messes around you slow you down and frustrate)
***Get dressed in workout clothes (you'll be more likely to workout!)
***Have breakfast; remember this is the most important meal of the day
***Straighten your house (limit this to 15-20 minutes....do what you can in that time frame)
***Read, Pray, Devotional Time or Self Development Time, allow at least one hour a day
***Workout (at least 20 minutes)
***Deal with Personal/Family tasks, for example: Make Dr. appointments, call teachers, write love notes to Hubby and/or Kids.
***Write one THANK YOU note to someone that makes a difference in your life (each day).
***Shower and Dress for the day
***Do 1-3 hours worth of MPA'S (Money Producing Activities) for your business. If you can PROSPECT IT, BOOK IT and/or FOLLOW UP....it's an MPA!
***When you start PROSPECTING, have your tools in hand, and names and numbers readily available.
*** Be sure to BOOK all future appointments on the initial call. Always ask if it’s a good time to talk.
*** As part of your FOLLOW-UP, return calls from the day (or even the week or month before!) Make sure you call your team, to see if they need any assistance. I also do not take ANY incoming calls (except from my kids and husband) until my preactive list is done......it's called avoiding distractions! There is usually no “Emergency" that can't wait until you complete your list. In addition, read and return emails, this can take up to 2 hours all by itself (notice, also, where this ranks on the list)

I suggest that you type this list up and keep it in your day planner and follow your day planner to the T. Highlight the activities or actions that you have completed as you do it! Doing this gives you an INCREDIBLE feeling of accomplishment....make a "game" of it to see how FAST you can get to the MPA'S. Sticking to your list helps you to develop the SELF DISCIPLINE necessary to be SUCCESSFUL working for yourself.

Last but not least,

***Kiss your family good night, even if you just have a beloved dog or cat, it makes you feel good and they feel included in part of your day.

In conclusion, smile when you pick up the phone. The caller will hear it in your voice!
If using a script, memorize it as closely as possible, trying not to sound as if you’re reading it.
When you book an appointment, either for that day or future, make sure to write it in your day planner and follow-up. Check your planner the night before. Make sure all of your personal as well as business appointments are in your planner!

Following up; the most critical part of prospecting in any home business, the fortune is in the follow-up. Working for you involves a great deal of self motivation and self improvement. I encourage you to find a speaker, such as Ellie Drake, who you can relate to and learn from.

Remember that great love and great achievements involves perseverance and consistency, AND A DAILY PLAN OF ACTION
Remember the three R's: Respect for self; Respect for others; and Responsibility for all your actions.

Keeping all of these pointers in mind, you will find your balance in the seesaw of life!

Here's to YOUR Success!!

How to Maintain your Computer

Being a computer technician pays nice money and has for a very long time. Why?well, mainly becuase alot of new computer owners fail to learn how to use and maintain there new computer. Before purchasing my first computer back in 1998,I took an 8 hour class on the basics of operating a windows 95 system based computer..Even with the class, within the first few months,I had crashed the computer 3 times. This gives you somewhat of an idea about what we have here today..Alot of people now are getting computers becuase there friends have one,or to just get into the chat rooms,or the adult sites..point being..they dont know how to use a computer, much less maintain one.

To save yourself alot of money and unneedless trips to the computer shop for repairs, there are a series of very simple steps you can take to keep your new computer running fast and efficient. Myself,I have windows xp home edition running on my computer. I find it to be the best system out there at the moment. The choice is of course yours as to what operating system you install on your machine. When you get your new computer home and you configure an internet connection, the first thing I recommend that you do is to get to the windows update site. The site will automatically update your new operating system with files to prevent people on other computers from accessing your data. Next step is to install an anti-virus and spyware program on your computer.

If your buying a new computer from a big outlet, this is usually included with your purchase but not always.Make sure to inquire about this when purchasing your computer. Both these programs, the anti-virus and the anti-spyware are a must have in todays computer age..You can get good information from google(http://www.google.com}. Just type in anti-virus in the search box..you will get choices for alot of programs..same for the anti-spyware.

Over time, you will visit alot of websites..Most of these sites has what are called "cookies".These are little embedded packages of data(files),that the sites you have visited leave on your computer to track your browsing habits. After awhile, these files need to be purged, deleted from your computer.

Other files that need to be purged at least once a week, are your temporary internet files and your history files. Failing to do this will really slow down your computer to a crawl and possibly cause a system crash, meaning you will have to re-install your operating system.

When you open up internet explorer,at the top left of the page, you will see options..Look for the Tools option.Left click "Tools",then left click "Internet Options".From there it should be straight foward for you. After you have deleted your temporary internet files and history files, click "OK" I do this at least once a day, really keeps my computer running fast.

Now im going to share with you, some things you can do about whats inside of your computer "the case"or your computers "hardware". No matter how clean the surroundings where you have your computer placed, over time, alot of dust and particles gather on the inside..your motherboard, inside the power supply,on your cpu,all your cards"video, sound, ect." I clean the inside of my computer every 3 months and I recommend all new users do it also.

Here is how to do it: First, before you do anything, make sure the computer is unplugged from the outlet and is completely turned off! Next is to get a screwdriver for those little round screws you will need to undo to get inside your case. When both sides of the case are removed, you will need a can of compressed air..you can buy this from any computer store for under 5 dollars. You then spray all the areas inside the case..you will see the dust and dirt flyng off from the places you sprayed. Doing this 4 times a year(every 3 months)Is a great way to save alot of money and keep your computer running like its brand new.

Buying the Right Notebook

The single most important reason anyone buys a notebook is for portability. This is something that you can take anywhere. If you frequently travel in your work, you need a notebook. If you are a student going back and forth to the university, you need a notebook. If you are journalist traveling the world and submitting articles, you need a notebook. And today’s notebooks can be as powerful as most desktops with dual processors, large capacity internal drives, and other attractive features. But which one is right for you? How do you determine what type of notebook

And the first part of the answer to the question of which one is right for you leads to a half-answer: “It depends.” It depends on what you are going to do with the computer. Are you going to use it for work or recreation? Is it something needed for your profession or are you a hobbyist? Do you play a lot of games? What level of internet access do you need? It is also important to remember that unlike desktop models, notebook computers cannot be upgraded easily. In fact, they usually have no upgrade path so you should take the time to get exactly what you need in terms of features and performance.

One characteristic of a notebook computer one should consider is the screen size. If you need to be able to have a lot of landscape for projects you are working on then consider a wider screen. Screen sizes usually can range from 10.4 inches to 17.1 inches. If you do a lot of work on an airliner in economy class, you are probably better off with a smaller screen size (because of the reclining seatbacks in front of you). Also a smaller notebook is just easier and lighter to carry around. Some who do presentations with their notebook computers will benefit from larger screen sizes such as those that use the newer WXGA technology. WXGA notebook screens can achieve resolutions up to 1366 by 768 pixels.

Battery life in your notebook computer is very important too. If you move around quite a bit, you might want to consider buying a notebook with not only a long lasting battery (most go 2-3 hours), but also one where buying a spare battery is not very expensive. One very inexpensive solution for the battery problem is to buy an external universal battery that can last up to 3-4 hours.

Another feature you need to consider when buying a notebook is internet connectivity. You will find that a popular way for people to work these days is with a wifi-enabled notebook at a wireless hotspot (such as in coffee shops, restaurants, libraries and airports). If you are buying an older used notebook, you may have to get an additional wifi-card if you want to have the mobile connectivity provided by this technology. Also, you will find that most hotels nowadays offer high-speed internet access but it is usually through a wifi connection.

And lastly, you need to consider what other options you want for your notebook computer. Do you want a CD writer or will you need to record DVDs? Do you need premium sound? How large of a disk drive do you need? When it comes to disk space, CD/DVD writers, sound cards, memory, and processor speed, it’s best to get it now as opposed to get it later. Here’s why: The upgrade path for most laptops and notebooks is not very long. This is because notebooks are probably replaced every 2-3 years. They are quick becoming just as expendable as a set of tires for your car. And if you do not maximize on memory and processor speed, your notebook may not able run efficiently the new application and game software. The more your notebook is adaptable to software upgrades, the longer it will be an effective tool for you.
will fit your current needs plus allow you to expand for the future?
